ESGO’s European Network of Gynaecological Cancer Advocacy Groups - ENGAGe is organizing its 6th Patient Advocacy Seminar, which will take place during the ESGO Congress in Athens, November 1-3, 2019.

The Patient Seminar Program in Athens is a platform for leaders of patient groups to share & exchange knowledge, foster collaborations and empower themselves with information that would help them tackle the issues they face back home.

The Seminar Programme will offer a platform for leaders of patient advocacy groups to share and exchange knowledge, foster collaborations, and empower themselves with information that will help them tackle the issues they face back home.

 

Program highlights

• Round table discussions with experts on the latest trends in the treatment of cervical, ovarian, and endometrial cancers. Participants have the opportunity to question the experts face-to-face.
• Presentations by Key Opinion Leaders on pertinent topics in gynaecological cancer treatment and care – scientific presentations given by healthcare professionals and adapted to a lay audience.
• Forum – an exchange of experiences between participants, with topics relating to the activities, best practices, and issues that patient advocates may encounter.
• Patient voice – presentations from patient advocates’ perspectives at selected sessions of the Congress.
• NEW: Best Oral and Poster presentations.

Abstracts

For the first time, the patient organisations participating at the Seminar may submit Patient Advocacy Abstracts to present their activities to the meeting participants. The three best abstracts will be selected for Oral Presentations during the Seminar and all other selected abstracts will be presented as Posters. All Abstracts will be included into the official ESGO 2019 Abstract book and published in the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer.

Webinars on how to prepare an abstract and how to prepare a poster presentation will be organised by ENGAGe for its members.

The Abstract submission is closed as of May 3, 2019.
