• Chair of ESGO Scientific Committee (SC) sends a call for 1-3 potential candidates, suggestions should be sent with a short description of recent work and explanation why the person should be considered
• Call is sent to ESGO members, ESGO Scientific Committee members and chairs of national societies of gynaecological oncology

• Young upcoming active scientist
• International collaborator, sharing of knowledge and ‘spirit of Helga’
• Doing strong translational research with clinical implications
• European scientist

• Scientific Committee chair collects proposals from ESGO members, SC members and chairs of national societies of gynaecological oncology
• SC chair does the search of publications of each candidate in the PubMed (total number of publications, last 5 years, how many times as first author, last author, from date etc…) and provides comments and advice to SC members for their review, comments, evaluation and scoring
• Proposal of the best candidate incl. commented justification is submitted to the ESGO Council
• The best awarded candidate is approved by the ESGO Council

• Lecture of the awarded candidate (15 minutes) will be delivered at the ESGO Congress at a dedicated slot for Awards
• The Awardee will be invited to the congress with invited speaker status (waived registration fees, 2 nights hotel and flight up to €350), if not already invited as invited speaker

Designed diploma is handed over by the session´s facilitator (Award session)
